There are over 1,800 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Tuesday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, there are 112,441 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,805 additional cases since Monday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 25 additional deaths to 1,117.
There have been 73,259 recoveries, 2,381 more since Monday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 4,900 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
A total of 1,591.310 tests have been taken, which is 18,088 more since Monday’s report.
