There are over 1,800 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Thursday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Thursday, there are 46,890 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,575 additional cases since Wednesday according to the report. The death toll has risen to 620.
There have been 28,938 recoveries, 655 more since Wednesday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 2,775 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
A total of 838,084 tests have been taken, which is 20,562 more since Wednesday’s report.
