217 Cases of COVID-19 in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for eight more confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to a Thursday morning news release from the health department. There are now 217 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest cases include:

  • an 82-year-old male (hospitalized)
  • a 51-year-old female (not hospitalized)
  • a 29-year-old male (not hospitalized)
  • a 25-year-old male (not hospitalized)
  • a 29-year-old female (not hospitalized)
  • a 21-year-old male (not hospitalized)
  • a 64-year-old female (not hospitalized)
  • a 19-year-old female (not hospitalized)

The department’s epidemiology staff are still trying to contact several of these individuals. Staff are also reaching out to people who had close contact with these cases.

Three Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The release said 198 Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and three people say they are feeling better.
