Over 10,700 Tennesseans have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, according to Thursday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 3 p.m. Thursday, there are 10,735 confirmed cases of COVID-19, while the death toll has risen to 199.

There have been 5,338 recoveries, 198 more since Wednesday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 1,045 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.

A total of 177,626 tests have been taken.
