Over 10,300 Tennesseans have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, according to Wednesday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health. That’s 314 more positive cases since Tuesday.
As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, there are 10,366 confirmed cases of COVID-19, while the death toll has risen to 195.
There have been 5,140 recoveries, 219 more since Tuesday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 1,013 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
A total of 168,549 tests have been taken.
