Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department reported seven new cases of the novel coronavirus in Madison County Wednesday, bringing the total of confirmed cases in the county to 54.
Four new cases were announced Wednesday morning by Kim Tedford, executive director of the JMCR Heath Dept. Three more cases were announced Wednesday afternoon through email from the department.
The newest patients include:
- 43-year-old female
- 54-year-old female
- 42-year-old female
- 50-year-old male
- 58-year-old female
- 24-year-old female
- 58-year-old female
The department’s epidemiology staff are still trying to make contact with some of the patients, so hospitalization status isn’t known at this time, the release said. The department is also reaching out to people who had contact with these patients.
One of the female patients is the spouse of a previously announced positive case.
