PBS stations in West Tennessee will begin airing daily instructional content next week for Tennessee students during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

West TN PBS (WLJT 11.1) will deliver two hours of programming with high-quality instructional content from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Central Standard Time, beginning Monday, April 6. Four hours of content will be streamed overnight, which viewers can watch live or record, according to a news release from the Tennessee Department of Education.

The TN Department of Education secured the partnership with the state’s PBS stations to provide all students with access to daily learning opportunities right in their own homes.

The release said the content has been created to ensure all students have access to high-quality learning opportunities, regardless of whether their home has internet connectivity or capable devices.

Additionally, the Jackson-Madison County School System has provided online and print options for student work for the coming days, according to a news release from the school system.

The release said, at minimum, K-8 students should use i-Ready packets provided by their individual schools this week while students in 9th-12th grades will have packets beginning Monday, April 6. Additional material may be provided at each school by individual teachers and online options are also available.

Please contact your school for more information regarding pickup and resources.
