The Jackson Energy Authority has announced that it has suspended disconnections for non-payment until further notice because of the current COVID-19 pandemic.

“We recognize that the COVID-19 crisis presents challenging financial circumstances,” JEA said on its website. “To help reduce the impact on our customers, we have suspended disconnections for non-payment until further notice. However, please know that while services will not be disconnected, bills will continue to accrue. We encourage customers to make payments when able to avoid high bills.”

JEA’s Customer Centers, located at 351 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. and 2030 Pleasant Plains Ext., will be closed to walk-in service beginning Wednesday, March 18. The drive-thru will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. for payments only.
