Freed-Hardeman University will take a two-week Spring break, from March 21 through April 5, according to a Friday morning announcement from the university’s President David Shannon. The university will begin to primarily serve students online starting April 6.

The announcement came the same day as other West Tennessee colleges move their classes online due to novel coronavirus concerns.

“While we know of no COVID-19 cases among our students, faculty or staff, we realize our immense responsibility to the Freed-Hardeman family and the communities we call home,” Shannon said. “We are grateful for the work of a campus-wide response team, along with the cabinet, and the dedication of FHU faculty and staff to help students achieve their educational goals with as little interruption as possible… As we pray for everyone’s health and peace, we look forward to welcoming students back to campus when it is prudent.”
