Keep Jackson Beautiful will celebrate its 2022 Earth Day festival at Jackson Fairgrounds Park, Saturday, April 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (rain or shine). The festival will include a drive-thru recycling drop-off for cardboard, paper shredding, glass, electronics, tube TVs (1 per household), tires (4 per household) and prescription medication.

“We are excited to host our Earth Day event again this year as we also celebrate the Jackson-Madison Bicentennial,” said Robin Chance, Keep Jackson Beautiful and City of Jackson, TN Recycle Coordinator. “We look forward to celebrating our planet through this festival.”

This year, the festival will kick off with the Earth Day 5K starting at 7:00 a.m. Runners can sign up at https://runsignup.com (Find a Race: “KJB Earth Day 5K”).

“This is an opportunity to get fit and give back to your community,” said race organizer and City of Jackson, TN Groundskeeping Superintendent J.D. Sims. “All participants will receive a finisher’s medal and t-shirt. We also want the runners to stick around for the festival.”

Activities for the festival will include a tree giveaway, inflatable obstacle course, scavenger hunt, face painting, balloon animals, and more. The City of Jackson, TN Fire Department will also be on-site with their gaming truck.

Educational booths and other vendors will include the Jackson-Madison 200 Bicentennial Committee; City of Jackson, TN Mayor’s Youth Council will be on-site to sign up volunteers for Trash-4-Cash, Master Gardeners, Tree Board, Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, Love Your Block – Jackson, TN, and more.
