Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, Over 210 New Cases in Madison County Since Friday

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 50-year-old male died Aug. 1 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Tuesday morning news release from the department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 240 in Madison County.

The health department has received positive test results for 212 more cases of COVID-19 since Friday, July 30, 2021. There is now a cumulative total of 12,122 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
