TN Dept. Of Health Reports Over 3,605 New Cases Of COVID-19 and Over 3,075 Deaths

There are over 3,605 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Friday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Friday, there are 241,513 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 3,606 additional cases since Thursday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 65 additional deaths to 3,076.

There have been 214,634 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 1,248 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, which is an increase of 52 hospitalizations.

A total of  3,465,912 tests have been taken, which is 41,827 more since Thursday’s report.
