TN DEPT. OF HEALTH REPORTS OVER 735 NEW CASES OF COVID-19 AND OVER 2,260 DEATHS

There are over 735 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Tuesday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, there are 185,148 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 739 additional cases since Monday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 28 additional deaths to 2,261.

There have been 167,778 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 766 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.

A total of 2,685,015 tests have been taken, which is 11,828 more since Monday’s report.
