Health Department Confirms Two Additional COVID-19 Deaths, 2,908 Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 92-year-old female died Aug. 31 and a 68-year-old male died Sept. 4 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Tuesday morning news release from the health department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 58 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 20 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 2,908 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include 11 males, 9 females, and range from ages 7 to 73.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Seven Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
