Jackson Police Investigating Late Monday Night Shooting That Left a Juvenile Dead

Officers and investigators of the Jackson Police Department are investigating a late evening shooting that has left one person dead, according to a Monday night news release from JPD.

Around 7:35 p.m., Monday, June 29, JPD officers were dispatched to a shooting in the area of Roosevelt Parkway and Carver Street.  Responding officers located a juvenile that was suffering from a gunshot.  The juvenile was transported by Emergency Medical Services to a local hospital and later died from the injury.

Jackson Police have a person of interest in custody and are not looking for any other subjects at this time, the release said.

This is an ongoing investigation.
