JACKSON, TN – JMCSS educator David Westberry joins a select group of educators who will gather throughout the coming year to discuss education policy and advocate for better outcomes. Westberry was selected to participate in the 2020-21 class of the Tennessee Educator Fellowship hosted by State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE). He is a fifth-year teacher serving on faculty at Jackson-Central Merry Early College High School where he teaches math.

This opportunity allows Westberry the chance to represent Jackson-Madison County in education policy discussions with educators across the state. The program draws together a set of diverse, accomplished educators to discuss and learn together as they seek to affect positive change.

“I am hoping to gain knowledge, wisdom, and insight that can make a direct impact on my campus and in our school district,” stated Westberry, who decided to apply for the fellowship out of a desire to learn about and then help others understand the policies impacting his students and fellow teachers.

JCM-Early College High Principal Nathan Lewis congratulated Mr. Westberry, stating “It is an honor for a JCM-ECH teacher to be selected out of hundreds of teachers from across the state.”
