The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department will distribute free washable, reusable cloth face masks starting Wednesday, May 6, according to a release from the department.

Madison County residents can pick up a mask at the health department (located at 804 North Parkway) or at The WIC Center (located at 589 East College Street), the release said. Masks are available for pick-up at both locations between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The release said Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee’s Unified Command Group (UCG) supplied a limited number of masks for Madison County residents and the masks will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Madison County residents will be limited to one mask per person.

Renfro, Corp, a global sock brand company, headquartered in Mount Airy, N.C., with a manufacturing and distribution operation in Cleveland, Tenn., will work with the UCG to make the masks available to as many Tennesseans as possible, according to a news release from Gov. Lee’s office. UCG is supplying the first 300,000 Renfro masks, based on population, to all 95 of Tennessee’s county and municipal health departments this week. The local county health departments will serve as a convenient pickup location for local residents in need of a mask. A full list of local health departments is available here.

Please call the health department at 731-423-3020 if you have questions.
