Over 30 Tennesseeans who tested positive for the novel coronavirus have died and the number of the state’s COVID-19 cases has surpassed 2,800, according to Thursday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Thursday, there have been 32 COVID-19 deaths in Tennessee and 2,845 COVID-19 cases reported. A total of 263 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.

The department also reported that 220 people who had COIVD-19 have recovered and that a total of 31,766 tests have come back negative from private and state labs.

Tennessee is currently under a non-mandated, 14-day Safer At Home executive order from Gov. Bill Lee.
